Featuring a waterproof design, this Christmas decoration is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Keep in mind that the push button box is not watertight. It has a 30-day full satisfaction guarantee, plus a 90-day warranty against defects. To display this Christmas decoration, start by hanging the star on the top of your tree. Then attach the nine lines of lights to the star and let them drape naturally to the ground, following the shape of the tree. You can stake the ends to the ground to keep them in place.
These lights also work great with evergreen trees from around 8 feet to 13 feet tall. Another option is to hang this Christmas decoration on the side of your house. Just hang the star about 10 feet up on an exterior wall, and then drape the nine-line little lights down to the ground. You can keep the lights against the wall, or stake them to the ground in a semicircle for a 3D effect.
Great for Adding into Displays
I enjoyed reading all of the ways that people used The WINOMO Star Lights 8 Modes with 12″ Tree-Top Star to add to different displays. Because it is in the form of a tree, you should be able to add it into almost any kind of display. Or you could add on to this display. Adding on is exactly what the following customer did by saying, “This is so pretty. I hung it from a front yard tree. But, I took an old wire coat hanger and snipped the top off only and bent it around the plastic loop at the top of the big star to make it easier for hanging. (There’s a hole to put the string through but that would require a ladder.) It shines really bright and has solid or blinking patterns. I used this with the American Flag light I also bought on Amazon as part of my Patriotic Christmas look. I had the guiding star reaching out at the American Flag (along with some other white lights shaped like stars, a few white trees and snowman also.) Neighbors all loved this. The strands were somewhat tangled taking out of the box, but to put it away it was easier then for next year because I wound each strand up and tied them with rubber bands so they don’t intermingle.”
Nice for Church Displays
There were comments about people using this for a church display. Some even used it indoors with some creative adjustments made. I’ll share here what one church customer said about how she hung material around it. Using the star however, indoors may not work as the customer also shared. She said, “I bought this star to use indoors. It was for a Nativity display for our new church. IT WAS PERFECT! I hung 4 yards of sheer fabric over the bar at the bottom of the star. The cool LED lights glowed behind the fabric producing a display that was the perfect backdrop. I spread out the strings of lights and lightly attached them to a 2 x 4 that sat on the floor. Otherwise, the lights would have hung straight down. (The star was intended for outdoor use and does come with stakes so that the strings of lights can be spread out.) There are several different light flash options. We of course just used the constant on setting. I can’t say enough how much this beautiful star made our first Christmas in our new worship facility even more special!
The Push Button Is Not Watertight
Unfortunately, the control button is not watertight. Customers did have problems once it got wet. You will need to keep the push button from getting wet so that it keeps working. This is a major design flaw that should be corrected by the company. A customer commented, “Great looking. Easy to set up. Quit working after first rain. The push button box is not watertight. If I would have wrapped in electrical tape, probably would not be giving a 1 star rating.”
Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, and I can tell you from reading the customer comments, that many people found The WINOMO Star Lights 8 Modes with 12″ Tree-Top Star to be beautiful. Here is one of the many positive comments on beauty, “Far more beautiful than I anticipated it would be! The size was perfect for attaching to the corner of my front porch-allowing the streamers to fan out in a spray to the ground below. Soft ethereal soft blue lights…breath-taking!”
There were multiple complaints about delayed shipping, so I thought it was worth mentioning. In case you need this by a certain date, you may want to prepare to tack on about 5 extra days to the expected date it should arrive. Here is one of the customer comments about shipping speed, “This product was a good value. I have wanted to buy it for quite some time, but it seemed a bit too expensive, however, I found it on Amazon at an affordable price. I sat it up like in the photo and really enjoyed it over the holidays. Next year, I plan to set it up like a shooting star. The only problem I had was that it was listed as delivered on time under Orders, but it wasn’t. It arrived about 5 days late, but in time for our family Xmas party.”
Bright and Blue White, Not Warm White
Some people had hoped that the lights were a warm white, however, they found out that they were in fact, a blue-white. A customer shared, “Just be aware these are ‘blue white’ led, not a warm white. I did only give 4 stars because the star itself is pretty light plastic so I hope it holds up to weather & wind.”
- Good Price
- Easy to assemble
- Nice for adding on to other displays
- Push button is not watertight
