3 Unique Wood Patio Furniture Ideas to Try This Fall

Wood patio furniture can get boring, and we’ll admit to that. Every house you go to, you see the same old backyard furniture with a long, rectangular table and six or eight chairs on either side of it. Some have cushions while on some you sit directly on the wood. Either way, they are boring. But what if we were to tell you that wood patio furniture can be more than that? Here are three awesome ideas.

3 Unique Wood Patio Furniture Ideas You Need to Try Now

#1. The Funky Sea Shell Pieces

This adorable idea will have you using salvaged wood which means two things. First of all, you will be a great friend of the environment, by reusing scrap wood which, otherwise would have gone to waste. Apart from that, you will keep from buying furniture made with new wood. Secondly, you will save a lot of money because the wood you use is really cheap and you do all the manual labor yourself.

The example we chose is an absolutely mesmerizing work of simple art. It consists of a bench for two people and two small stands, reshaped to look like an open shell. You can use a plethora of colors, as you can see in the picture, or you can use a solid block color.

#2. The Outdoor Sofa-Bed

How about a nice and comfortable sofa-bed for your wood patio design instead of a simple couch? You will positively love this little corner after you build it. Choose two outdoor walls of your house that come together at a 90-degree angle to set up your sofa-bed. The next step will require you to build the sofa’s wooden structure.

If you need help with this, you can always hire a carpenter. If you don’t, then you’re in luck, as you will spend less money. All you need to do next is fit a thick mattress into the wooden frame and add as many decorative pillows as you want. Your afternoon naps in the sunshine will never be the same again!

#3. The Enlightened Wood

Enlightened wood patio furniture? How would that even work, you might ask. Simple enough, we would answer you. The idea belongs to a talented artist named Duncan Meerding, but you can easily reproduce it yourself.

The stools or small tables, if you will, are made from logs which were deemed not suited for other uses because of their imperfections. You can salvage the pieces of wood from their fate towards the fire and reuse them. Crack open the logs and install some basic lights inside.

Anyone of these atypical wood patio furniture ideas will look whimsically amazing in your backyard, that we can guarantee. You even get a bonus thanks to the fact that they’re so cheap to manufacture so why not give them a go?
