4 Delicious Things You Didn’t Know You Could Grill

Summer is approaching and that means it is almost grilling season! There are so many great things you can grill. Hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks, corn on the cob. These are all classic things to grill. Have you ever thought about grilling something unexpected? There are many things that you do not typically put on a grill, but are delicious! Dare to be different, dare to be bold, dare to grill something you’ve never grilled before. Here are 4 delicious things you didn’t know you could grill.

Peaches

This is a game changer. Grilled peaches are absolutely amazing. This is arguably the best way to eat a peach. Make a cut along the seam of the peach and twist it open. Remove the pit. Spread canola or vegetable oil on the peach and put them on a hot grill. Grill the halves for 3 to 4 minutes face down. When the peach is soft and cooked through, and has grill marks remove them from the heat. While they are still hot, put a pad of butter and cinnamon and sugar on them. The butter, cinnamon, and sugar should melt inside the peach. Put a cold scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. My mouth is watering already. Super easy, super delicious, and super unexpected.

Pineapple

A lot of Brazilian restaurants have grilled pineapple. It is such a delicious treat. Use a cup of brown sugar and mix it with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Core the pineapple and cut it into wedges. Put the wedges into a plastic bag with the brown sugar and cinnamon and shake the bag until the pineapple is evenly coated. Grill the pineapple on a hot grill until each side has grill marks. The brown sugar makes a caramel coating on the pineapple. Everyone will love it!

Bananas

I know. Why haven’t you thought of this before? Cut the banana in half lengthwise and put them on the grill face down. The banana gets super sweet and a little crispy around the edges. Yum. You won’t believe how delicious this makes the banana taste. Pour melted chocolate on top of the banana or make a full on banana split. The works! Ice cream, cherries, whipped cream, almonds, chocolate fudge, and grilled bananas.

Watermelon

No, I’m not crazy. Watermelon on the grill makes a delicious summer treat. When you grill something it brings out the natural flavors of whatever you’re grilling. Watermelon typically doesn’t have that strong of a flavor so when you grill it, it enhances the subtle the flavor into something more bold. Try this twist on a classic summer food. You just might love it.

Summing Up

There are all sorts of things just waiting to be grilled. You know the old saying, “don’t knock it till you try it.” All of these things are delicious on the grill and there are so many more things to try. So this Summer go out and try new things on the grill and decide which ones are your favorites. You might just discover a new grilling classic.
