In this fast paced world, chances are that you have some family and friends who might be feeling the stress.  What a wonderful and good time and gift it can be to throw a spa party.  Enjoy pampering yourself and the special people in your life with extra special feel good treatments.

Supplies You’ll Need

Whether you are hosting a spa party for adults, a spa bachelorette party, or a kids spa party, it is important to get all of the supplies you’ll need.  I’ll go over some supplies here that most spa parties have.

Also, keep in mind that you may want to hire a massage therapist, or someone who professionally does spas to come to your party.  For more information on how to hire a professional to help you with your spa party, check out SPARTY.  This site hosts many spa events, as well as helps others host their own private spa parties.  Keep in mind that SPARTY is located in New York City, so you have to live near this city to be able to have SPARTY help you.  If you do not live in New York City, you can type in on the internet “spa parties near me”, and some events and professionals should pop up.  You can also search for home spa party companies.  As for other spa party supplies, here is a list of items you will need to buy.

Spa Party for Adults

A spa party is meant to be relaxing for your guests.  Here is a list of some spa party supplies that may help make your party even more enjoyable:

  • Candles
  • A player that you can play soft music on
  • Pillows
  • Robes and slippers for guests to wear
  • Creams and exfoliating masks
  • Cucumber slices for eyelids
  • Cooling gel masks
  • Nail polish (get lots of different colors)
  • Files for manicures and pedicures
  • Scented lotions
  • Food (go for small appetizers rather than a large meal)
  • Favors (small beauty products is a good option)

Spa Bachelorette Party

A spa bachelorette party is like a regular spa party, but it is a bridal shower spa party.  If you will be hosting a spa bachelorette party, also called a bridal spa party, then you will want to make it similar to a regular bachelorette party.  This means you should have some gifts for the soon-to-be-bride.  These gifts are often called bachelorette spa packages.  The bachelorette party spa packages should contain beauty products, such as perfume, bath salts, and other small beauty products.

Other items for a bachelorette party are similar to that of a regular spa party.  Make sure that you have soft music playing, and some candles lit.  Pillows are important so that your guests have a comfortable time.  Make sure to have robes and slippers ready for your guests to wear.  You may want to consider hiring a massage therapist to come to your party so that your guests can have professional massages done.  Or better yet, search on the internet for ” spas for bachelorette parties near me”, and some parties should pop up.  Once again, SPARTY is a great site to check out if you are looking for spa events.  This will allow you to enjoy your time with your friends, rather than have to worry about hosting a party by yourself.

Kids Spa Party

A kids spa party is very similar to a spa party for adults.  Most kids spa parties are for your child’s birthday, or for your child’s friend’s birthday.  Some spa birthday party ideas could include to have nail polish available, soft music playing, homemade facial masks, and tasty foods to eat.

Refreshments

A spa is centered around things that are good for you and make you feel good.  This is a great time to serve up drinks that not only taste good but that nourish the body.  I’ll go over some recipes here for some refreshing drinks:

Sparkling Basil Lemonade

Gordon Maybury, Executive ChefThe Arizona Biltmore, Phoenix, AZ

4 ounces fresh-squeezed lemon juice3 basil leaves (hand-tear to release aromatic oils)1 ounce San Pellegrino Limonata (or sparkling lemon soda)1 ounce homemade Basil Simple Syrup (below)

Basil Simple Syrup

Bring ingredients to boil and simmer for 5 minutes, then strain, cool and serve.

4 ounces organic sugar4 ounces water1 basil leaf and stem

Chef Maybury created this lemon-based aperitif from the bounty of citrus popular year-round in Phoenix, where it often tops 110 degrees during the dehydrating days of summer. Stay refreshed with cooling spa treatments and detoxing drinks, he urges. “Shake lemon juice and Basil Simple Syrup over ice for one minute. Pour into a high-ball glass, top with sparkling soda and garnish with a basil leaf, then serve.” Packed with Vitamin C, the Sparkling Basil Lemonade is a natural pick-me-up.

Watermelon Cucumber Elixir

Nathan Brown, Beverage Manager The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, San Diego, CA

15 cubed watermelon squares (seeds removed and toasted for garnish on a salad)3 ¼” cucumber rounds (peeled with skin off)1/2 ounce organic Agave Nectar

Nothing screams “summertime” more than a luscious hunk of hot-pink watermelon. “It’s delicate sweetness marries perfectly with the mild flavors of cucumber for a light, mineral-packed drink,” says Brown. (The tasty seeds are packed with essential proteins and make crunchy garnishes atop any salad.) Combine ingredients in the blender on low for 30 seconds. “Refrigerate until you’re ready to serve, stir and garnish with a cucumber slice,” he says.

Activities

Make Body Butters

Have each guest make their own body butter.  There are many body butter recipes online.  Have each guest choose the essential oil scent she wants to use.  ‘

Make Sugar Sea Salt Scrubs

Sugar sea salt scrubs have many moisturizing benefits, and can make your skin very healthy.  Sugar sea salt scrubs are very easy to make.  Here are the ingredients you will need:

  • 1/2 cup coarse sugar or date sugar
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons local honey
  • 1 teaspoon jojoba oil
  • 1/8 cup of shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 5–10 drops pure essential peppermint oil

Directions:

  1. Pour the sugar and sea salt into a glass bowl and mix it well with a spoon.
  2. Blend the coconut oil, honey, jojoba oil, and shea butter.
  3. Once you have blended all of the ingredients, add the peppermint oil.  Stir until everything is well blended.
  4. Have each guest take home some sugar sea salt scrubs.  Make sure to tell them to store it in the refrigerator when they get home.

Using a Hot Tub

If you have a hot tub, great!  If not you may be able to rent one.  There are businesses that will pull up to your party with a portable hot tub on wheels.  Check out if your town has this kind of service.  A hot tub will surely be the the center point of any spa party.

Gifts To Give Out

After a wonderful day of enjoying your spa party, your friends will leave feeling refreshed.  As your party comes to an end, your guests will start to leave.  But don’t let them walk out the door empty handed.  Giving each person a small gift is a kind action to do that will make your guests feel appreciated and special.   Spa party gifts, also called spa party favors, don’t have to be expensive.  Here are some spa party favors that you may want to consider giving out:

  • A scented candle
  • Bath salts
  • Small beauty products from drugstores
  • Beauty/perfume samples from department stores
  • Small jars that you fill with lotions and bath salts

Seating

Spa parties are suppose to be refreshing and relaxing.  Therefore, it is important to have comfortable seating.  Pillows are a good option, since they are very comfortable and cozy.  Make sure to choose fluffy pillows.  Some throw blankets may be a good option as well.  You may want to arrange the pillows so that they surround a short table.  That way your guests can sit comfortably at the table to do their nails and enjoy small beauty crafts.  If you will be using chairs, then it is important that the chairs have a comfortable cushion.

Spa Items You Can Make Out of Flowers

  • Lavender Sachets – Take some lavender buds and put them in sachet bags.  These make nice party favors to give out to guests.  Lavender gives off a scent that is a natural relaxant and sleep aid.  This makes it perfect for a spa favor.
  • Rose Petals – Sprinkle rose petals on tables and even on the floor, for a beautiful and heavenly touch.
  • Dried Flower Bouquets – Most flowers can be dried when hung upside down and then placed in a dry vase.  Dried flowers can be given out at the end of the spa for guests to take home.

Conclusion

A spa party can be a relaxing and fun time for friends to get together and unwind.  I’ve gone over some spa party ideas including supplies that you’ll need, refreshments, gifts to give out, seating and spa items that you can make out of flowers.  I hope that this inspired and equipped you to throw a spa party of your own.  Keep it fun and be creative.  You and your friends just might make memories to last a lifetime.
