Amdro Ant Block Home Perimeter Ant Bait Granules are an outdoor food bait. They are a possible fit for labeled ants foraging around a building, but they are not an indoor powder or a contact treatment to scatter wherever ants appear.
Product identity and intended use
The manufacturer’s Ant Block label identifies hydramethylnon and distinguishes perimeter and individual-mound applications. Match the name, registration number and directions on your own container; this reference is a five-ounce package, not a coverage promise for every size.
Workers must collect the granules. An immediate reduction in visible ants is therefore a different measure from eventual colony control. A large bottle does not compensate for using the wrong formulation or placing bait where ants are not feeding.
Conditions matter for an outdoor bait
The label calls for active ants and dry conditions, avoiding wet ground and rain expected within 24 hours. It also says to use the opened product within three months because its oil bait can become less attractive with prolonged air exposure. Keep the container tightly closed in secure, dry storage.
That makes buying an oversized package a questionable saving for a small property. Compare the amount needed for your actual treatment with the amount you can use according to its storage directions. Do not turn a leftover supply into routine daily applications.
Where it does not belong
This label prohibits use on vegetables and other food crops. Keep people and pets away during application and avoid direct animal exposure. Prevent granules and runoff from reaching water. Use the exact application table on the container for the chosen site and method.
A perimeter treatment and an individual mound treatment are separate uses, with different placement considerations. Do not assume that a rate expressed per linear foot can be substituted for a mound dose, or that any granular lawn insecticide should be watered in the same way.

- Whether a suitable dry application window is available.
- Whether pets, food-growing beds or nearby drainage make placement unsuitable.
