Item Specifics

The Sunhiker Cycling Hiking Backpack is a nifty little backpack selling at a low price.  While it isn’t going to be a great backpack for overnight camping, or long trips, it is great for what it’s made for.  And that is for biking and daily use.

The material used is highly resistant nylon which is also water-resistant.  A MatReflective stripe will help keep you safe if you plan on using it around traffic at night.  The shoulder straps are adjustable and also breathable which is great for hot days.  This backpack if suitable for hiking, day camping, climbing, traveling and cycling.

The dimensions are 15.7 x 9.1 x 5.9 inches.  The weight of this backpack is 12.3 ounces.  You will have 9 colors to choose from if you buy this backpack.

Compartments

While the Sunhiker Cyclling Hiking Backpack has a lot of compartments, there doesn’t seem to be an ideal place to put a cell phone.  But other than that customers left very positive feedbacks on the compartments.  Here is just one of the many, “I had no issues with this one and it was very comfortable to wear and carry. I loved all the different pockets and compartments, it held far more than I expected it would and I was able to keep things organized so I could quickly get to them when needed. I have continued to use it since coming home, as it is the perfect size for day trips with the family!”

Straps

The straps seem to be great for thinner people, but a larger person may have a hard time getting the belly and chest straps snapped.  One customer who was happy with this backpack, covered some of the pros and cons including the straps, “I tested out the bag on a small hike and it was wonderful! It was very lightweight even though I was carrying multiple water bottles. The weight distribution seems very good. There’s a good pouch on the inside for putting credit cards and keys. There’s also an inner pocket that allows you to separate items some. The front zipper part I unfortunately found to be a bit small. The only thing I could put in there really was a packet of tissues. It confused me that there was no easy place to put a cell phone. Another negative was the bottom strap that goes around the belly. It is very small and would only fit around pretty fit, thin women. Someone with a larger stomach wouldn’t even be able to use it.”

Great for Kids

This is an ideal backpack for kids going to and from school.  One customer had this to say, ” I got this backpack for my niece who is starting kindergarten next year. Admittedly this bag is a little big for her, but I would say it is a perfect school backpack for a 2nd – 8th grader. This bag has a small form factor, but includes a lot of features that you would typically find in bigger backpacks (chest strap, waist strap, zipper housings, etc.) so I was happy to get this bag for my niece although it was a little big for her.”

Sunhiker Cycling Hiking Backpack Conclusion

The Sunhiker Cycling Hiking Backpack is an inexpensive backpack that is great for day travel.  It would make a good backpack for a carry-on luggage when traveling by airplane.  It would also make a great backpack for a child going to school. College students also liked it for carrying books and snacks while traveling between classes on campus.  There are a lot of compartments which make it nice to put all kinds of gadgets and gizmos in this pack.   One complaint though was that there didn’t seem to be an ideal place for a cell phone.  Another complaint was that though this backpack might be great for a thin to average person, a large person may have a tough time getting the chest and belly straps to snap.  With all this being said, if you are a thin to medium sized person or child wanting an inexpensive daypack, I’d say you can’t go wrong with the Sunhiker Cycling Hiking Backpack.

Common Questions

Here are some top questions that I found for people considering buying a Sunhiker Cycling Hiking Backpack.

  • chevron-circle-right I was wanting to use this as a diaper bag; room for a sippy cup, change of baby clothes, blanket, couple of diapers, etc. Will this hold those basics?   As answered by a customer:  “You should be able to fit all of those items in there if the blanket you use is not a large, thick one. It is a smaller pack that I purchased for when we go on vacation to walk around with. I put a drink, snacks and camera in it while still having ample room for small gifts I might buy. I did not want to carry the “regular” size pack as I always had so much extra room I didn’t need and the smaller one suits my purpose perfectly.”
  • chevron-circle-right Can I fit a water bottle on each side of this backpack?  Yes, you can fit a water bottle on each side of this backpack.
  • chevron-circle-right Has anyone ever used this as a personal item on an airplane?   As answered by a customer:  “Yes it worked great. No problems.”
