As of this writing, there are 183 customer comments and 70 answered questions for the Roundup Pro Weed Killer. I’ve read the customer feedback and then condensed the results into this review. I hope that this review helps you when shopping for weed killer.
The Roundup Pro Weed Killer is for sale to small-scale businesses and is a non-selective post-emergent herbicide that kills the roots of weeds. It is for industrial, turf, and ornamental weed control. The 2.5-gallon container can cover up to 435,600 square feet for large jobs. It is easiest to apply this weed killer with a tank sprayer (not included). Keep in mind that this product will also kill your grass and any other plants around it, so be careful when applying this on weeds next to flowers, grass, or trees.
Will Expire If Not Used in Time
This product does have a set shelf life. The strength of the formula will not last indefinitely. A customer shared this, “Roundup Pro is still the king. I have to maintain almost 3 acres of Florida lawn and landscaping–and weeds grow quickly here especially during the summer. Roundup has always been easy to use and this formula dries within three hours, very important when dodging our summer rainfalls. I’ve also found it useful to kill Brazilian Pepper trees and shrubs. Simply cut the stump about one foot from the ground and use a paintbrush to apply undiluted Roundup onto the stump. This price is great but it comes with a caution. Check the expiration date to make sure that it doesn’t expire before you use it. The last one I bought expired in sixty days.”
Multiple Lawsuits Filed Against Maker of This Product
There have been well-publicized lawsuits filed against Monsanto, the maker of this product. Much of it is over the health hazards present and what it does to the environment as a result of the killing of bees. Some of the claims are that is causes cancer, ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, Birth, Celiac disease and gluten intolerance defects, Autism, Chronic kidney disease, Colitis, Depression, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Hypothyroidism, Inflammatory Bowl Disease (“Leaky Gut Syndrome”), Liver disease, Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Parkinson’s Disease, Pregnancy problems (infertility, miscarriages, stillbirths), Obesity, Reproductive problems, and Respiratory illnesses.
Very Effective at Killing Plants
The Roundup Pro Weed Killer will work at killing any vegetation that it is sprayed on. Some people who know about the dangers of this particular product still chose to use it because it is effective. A customer had this to share, “I hate Monsanto and try to avoid their products whenever I can, but when it comes to killing grass that persists in growing in the wrong places, nothing kills it like Roundup. When I saw the price, I thought it was a good deal for a gallon of concentrate. You can imagine my surprise when I noticed it was two and a half gallons! I now have strips of dead grass along my fence line and sidewalk, which will be a lot easier to remove than before.”
The price on Amazon is better than when you buy this product at most retail mortar and brick stores. Here is one of the many positive price comments, “I’ve been using the Roundup from Walmart and the box stores, but obviously they don’t give it away. It’s a no-brainer, those 32 oz bottles run about $48.00 with tax. This Super Roundup is 10 times that amount. Do the math. Great results. Just follow the directions. The amount of water they say to add gives the mixture in a % of the chemical. I used 12 oz per two gallons of water and the solution kicked the toughest weeds. Kudo’s to Super Roundup!”
Dangerous and Controversial Product
This herbicide has perhaps been the subject of more protest marches across America than any other poison on the market. Here a customer articulates what many others are also saying, “Want cancer? BIRTH DEFECTS? A host of other problems? Buy it up! f you want to keep pests and weeds away, there are far cheaper, healthier and smarter options… The proof is in the science. Don’t let this criminal enterprise fool you with their glossy logo. They are killing off the bees, they are poisoning out the planet, and they are engineering ALL food so as to take control of the entire food supply. They are criminals and should be brought to justice for their crimes against humanity. Don’t buy this garbage! Wake up!”
Will Kill Bees
This product will also kill honey bees and flying insects. Bees are very important to the environment. One service that bees do for mankind and the environment is to pollinate our crops. The maker of this product, Monsanto has received much negative feedback from people around the world. Here is one of the customer comments, “This product is killing our environment and destroying our ecosystem. MONSANTO is an evil corporation. Do a little research please.”
Seems to Work Better in the Heat
Some people noticed better results with the weed killer when they used it in the heat versus cooler weather. A customer shared this, “I first reviewed this product VERY negatively. I bought it in late autumn and it did not work very well then. If this is used in warmer weather, it works just fine. My apologies to the seller and Amazon for my original, negative review.”
Takes a Long Time to Work
A common complaint about this product was that it does take some time to work. A customer shared this, “Great product!…..Super price!……The only negative is that it takes so…long to take a noticeable effect, a couple of weeks at least. I guess I, like so many others, have fallen victim to this age of “instant gratification”! Put it this way, the product definitely tests your patience!”
