The Reelcraft Hose Reel is a robotically welded steel base that offers strength and quality combined.  The full flow swivel combines a high grade seal design and materials with bearing areas to insure maximum service life.  The declutching arbor almost eliminates the possibility of spring damage due to reverse winding.  The quiet speed latch is designed for a reliable and quiet operation.  This hose reel is made in the USA.  The total weight of the reel is 19.4 pounds.

The Reelcraft Hose Reel can be mounted on the wall, floor, ceiling or truck.  Once you receive it, you can choose to mount it in many different ways.  One customer said that he “mounted it on two adjacent 2x10s in a corner high wall position.”

One person commented about how two extra holes added would have made mounting easier.  The customer said, “Reelcraft had drilled two extra holes in the reel mount, could have made this where it would adjust to a multitude of positions. FYI… both positions were not ideal for vertical mounting on the wall at my location, so I am not too happy with it but not terribly upset either.  Base is narrow and could have used a couple more steel reinforcing ribs in the mounting frame, which likely would stop the wobble/bounce of the reel.”

The Reelcraft Hose Reel is made in the USA.  Not only does that mean that you will support American jobs when buying it, but you will also be able to find parts for it if you ever should need to.  When products are made overseas, it can be almost impossible sometimes to find parts.  One customer commented, “Bought this for my home/business low-ceiling shop/garage, installed it over a year ago and very pleased with it.  Great American quality and well worth the extra price. Down the road if you need replacement parts, they will be available unlike the cheaper imported models.”

Quality Reel

Shipping Material Could Be Improved

I came across a lot of complaints about how it was packed poorly for shipping.  If it was just 1 or 2 complaints coming in, it might seem to be an isolated case.  But many complained of damage caused by shipping.

Here is one of many damaged during shipping comments, “The hose reel appears to be well built, but it was very poorly packaged, and suffered damage during shipping. I didn’t notice the damage when I first opened the carton – one area of the metal hose rim was bent (but the paint wasn’t scratched or marred). Unfortunately, I discarded the shipping carton before I realized the item was damaged; so I can’t return it to Amazon for an exchange or refund. It is a very heavy item, and the shipping carton is clearly inadequate to protect it during shipping. Reelcraft has been making hose reels for some time, so you would think they would know how to package them properly to avoid damage. Due to the significant weight of the item, and the very poor attempt at packaging it, I would be surprised if any of these hose reels would be received without some sort of damage. Buyer beware.”

Price

The price is slightly on the high end of hose reels.  But even with it being priced higher people weren’t complaining about how much it cost.  On the contrary people seemed to realize that it is a quality hose reel.  One person had this to say, “Is it cheap? No Is it the most expensive? Definitely not.  Does it work great?  You better believe it!”
