Item Specifics

The Milwaukee Hex Screwdriver Bare Tool has a variable speed trigger and a 0-500R RPM which gives the user unrivaled fastening control.  A 15 +1 clutch setting helps to prevent over tightening of fasteners.  With 175 inches of torque the user should be able to accomplish many jobs.  This screwdriver is lightweight, compact and weighs in at only 2.0 pounds.  It is designed to be durable and comfortable.  It also fits in tight spaces.  An onboard LED light and fuel gauge help you to increase productivity and avoid interruptions.  A two belt-clip positions for both right and left handed users.  The Battery Pack is strong and holds a long charge.

The dimensions for the Milwaukee Hex Screwdriver Bare Tool is 6 x 6 x 2 inches with a weight of 1.8 pounds.

No Battery Nor Charger Included

A drawback of the Milwaukee Hex Screwdriver Bare Tool is that it does not come with a battery nor charger.  Keep that in mind when comparing prices.  It’s too bad, since many of the screwdrivers do come with a battery and charger.  In a world where manufacturers are making things more convenient for the consumer, I’m not sure why they didn’t include the extras.  So you will need to do some more shopping to complete this set and use this screwdriver.

One customer explained, “Great screwdriver, then bought batteries, charger and bag. Wish they sold it all together.”

Belt Clip

A nice added feature of the Milwaukee Hex Screwdriver is that is includes a belt clip.  This enables the user to hook it on his or her pants so that your hands are free.  The older version of this screwdriver did not include a belt.  A belt clip is nice for when your hands are full or when you are climbing a ladder.  Customers all seemed pleased with the added belt feature.  One customer explained, “I like the added belt holster, clips on to my tool bag nicely.  Does the job well and no regrets.”

Old Model Better Quality?

There were many comments on Amazon about the old version of this screwdriver being of better quality.  People mentioned that this model seemed made not as durable as the old.  People also commented that the speed may have been faster but the torque was less powerful.

One customer gave a short run down on the differences between the old and new model by saying, ” This bare (new version) tool being briefly only $40 I decided to get it figuring it would be of similar quality. I was very disappointed. The older model has much more metal than plastic is one of the first impressions. The next thing I noticed was that it seems a little faster with the trigger squeezed all the way. That might sound like a positive but the feel was different. I would personally rather have a bit slower speed and more torque. So the proof is in use… I also don’t understand why Milwaukee kept the same model number as others who bought the “old” tool and received the new model have indicated.”

LED Light

The LED Light is a nice added feature.  It lets you see in dark corners.  You may not need it often nor even notice it’s on until you do need it.  Then it’s a real plus.  As commented by a buyer, “The light on the front is a great feature which really lights up the work area.”
