The DEWALT String Trimmer features a brushless motor which maximizes motor efficiency and durability.  It has a dual 0.080 inch line with bump feed and a 13-inch cutting swatch.  It also features a variable trigger with speed control and a patented gear drive design.  The battery is sold separately.  The DEWALT String Trimmer arrives in 2 pieces and needs to be assembled.  

Assembly

The DEWALT String Trimmer does require some assembly.  Let’s hear what customers had to say about the ease of assembly:  “Out of the box assembly was easy, it comes in two halves that snap together and the front handle attaches with two bolts (tool included).”  Another reported, ” Easy to assemble, great quality, light weight. I would recommend this weed wacker. My first cordless or non gas weed eater & I am glad I switched to battery.”  I was not finding negative feedback on the assemblage required.

No Gas, No Oil, No Fumes

Safety should always be first.  The DEWALT String Trimmer does have a safety feature, but a customer suggested a way to kill the battery so that it doesn’t accidentally go on.  He suggested, “The only thing I wish this had (and this is a small wish for how awesome this product is) is a way to shut the battery off to the unit completely. The safety is nice, and works in most situations, but I’ve caught myself picking this up and accidentally setting it off in my haste. Would be nice to kill the battery’s connection if you’re going to be moving it to avoid accidental activations, but again, for a product I’m this happy with, I can’t complain too much.”

No Battery Included

Unfortunately, there is not battery included with the DEWALT String Trimmer.  That’s something to keep in mind when pricing string trimmers.  Some come with batteries and some come without batteries.  It all may factor in to your budget and what you want to spend on a string trimmer.
