Put some lemon slices into your garbage disposal to clean it and get rid of any bad smells. The blades on the disposal will be cleaner because of it. Your kitchen will also have a nice fragrance. That’s just one of many great uses for lemons in the kitchen.

Shine Your Faucets

Rub a slice of lemon on your grimy or dull faucets to make them shine. They will go back to their former glory and look brand new!

Clean Wood Cookware

Wood bowls, rolling pins, or cutting boards can absorb smells. It’s very unpleasant if you can still smell last night’s fish on your cutting board. Rub a lemon on the wood to get rid of the smell. The wood will absorb the lemon juice and the smell will go away.

Get Rid of Bad Breath

Lemons have a great scent and are good at killing bacteria. That makes it the perfect natural mouthwash. Gargle with some lemon juice to get rid of stubborn bad breath.

Clean Copper

Copper can get dull over time. Use a slice of lemon to brighten it up. Rub the slice of lemon on your copper, rinse it with hot water, then polish dry. You’ll be able to see your beautiful reflection staring back at you!

Deter Bugs

Deter ants or spiders away from your house. Squirt some lemon juice around nooks and crannies, doorways, and windows. Insects will shy away from the strong smell.

Put lemon rinds in your garden to keep squirrels or cats away. Animals with sensitive noses will go elsewhere to dig because of the pungent aroma.

Create Furniture Polish

All the furniture polish in the store is lemon scented anyway, so why not make your own? Mix one part lemon juice with two parts olive oil.

Fix Hardened Paint Brushes

Get all the dried paint off of your paintbrush with some lemon juice. Dip your brush into some boiling lemon juice then lower the heat. Leave your brush in the lemon juice for 15 minutes. Then wash your brush with soapy water and all the paint will come off.

Make Your House Smell Nice

Boil some sliced lemons in water for about an hour. Your house will smell great and lemony fresh. Add things like cinnamon or other spices for an even better scent. As an added bonus, this will also clean your pot!
