This powerful wet dry shop vacuum has a 7 foot hose with a large 2-1/2-inch diameter which reduces clogging, and offers 180 degree flexibility at both ends for easier maneuverability.  The 15 foot power cord provides plenty of reach.  There is a drain port that will easily empty wet masses. Another nice feature is the integrated blower.  This Workshop vacuum is cover by a 5-year limited warranty.

Very Powerful

Almost all of the comments that customers left were about how powerful this shop vac is.  Because of its large hose it will not clog, and the suction is very good.  Customers were amazed with what this shop vac could sweep, whether it was sand, water, or any other mess.  One person even used it for sweeping up Timothy hay.

Here is what one customer commented about this shop vac’s power, “For the price this shop VAC is very powerful. My kids are slobs. Instead of yelling and fighting with my kids about cleaning up I now just pull out the vacuum and suck all the stuff up. I love that it can use a bag or collect directly into the container. We also have two guinea pigs that go through a lot of Timothy hay and my son has trouble getting it in the hay bucket for them. I think he’s trying to feed the floor. This stuff has clogged every vacuum and like glitter it sticks everywhere. Did I mention that this thing can pick up glitter as well? After a slime party using every ungodly product in the household and then sticking glitter in it we are surrounded by a cloud of rainbow holographic glitter. This VAC sucks it right out of the air and off of clothes and upholstery.”

Caster Wheels Are a Little Small for This Big Shop Vac

Although no customers dealt with the caster wheels falling off or breaking, there were multiple complaints about them looking not too durable.  Because this is such a big shop vac and can get heavy when full of water or debris, it seems like it should have larger wheels.  But because customers did not experience the caster wheels falling off, perhaps this is not a problem.  Customers just thought that after a while the wheels may begin to break.

Here is what one customer thought about the caster wheels, “The only thing I would be worried about long-term are the caster wheels. They’re a little smaller than you would think, hiding under those plastic feet. It works just fine on hard, smooth surfaces in a basement or garage, but if you were constantly wheeling this thing over uneven, beat up surfaces, the casters might slowly break down and leave you with a clumsy rolling experience. Still, as far as shop vacs go, I don’t have much to complain about in terms of durability.”

Comes with Accessories and Accessory Storage

Not only does the WORKSHOP Wet Dry Vac WS1200VA Heavy Duty come with accessories, but it also includes storage areas for the accessories on the shop vac.  While there were not many comments about this feature, it is still nice to have.  Here is what one customer had to say about this shop vac, “A large and durable wet dry vac that does the job. Requires wet filter bought separately, other wise all else is included with snaps for accessories on top for easy storage. Long hose, great sucking power, a little loud but normal for the power use.”

Can Get Heavy

This shop vac weighs 19 pounds when empty, so when it is filled with water or sand it may get really heavy.  The wheels will help you maneuver it, but still it can get heavy to move around.  Because some people were worried about the wheels not being durable, too much weight on them may shorten their lifespan.  However, no customers commented about the wheels breaking.

No Clogging

You don’t need to worry about clogging with this 2-1/2-inch diameter hose.  This customer explained about how durable and powerful this shop vac is, “The suction is great and I love how much I can get into one bag. The bags are also easy to put in, as well as easy to attach hose, pieces, etc. I believe this will work find for us as far as cleaning, but we may end up with a broken wheel at some later date. So far, it rolls easily and handles even heavy jobs such as sawdust and nails. Due to the width of the hose, it vacuums up the masses of dog hair we have without getting stopped up, which is wonderful. Our family will really put this thing through the tests. So far, it is holding up very well.”

Loud

Because it is a powerful machine, this shop vac will be very loud.  Customers recommended to wear ear plugs when operating this shop vac.  Here is what one customer said, “It has a lot of power, and is pretty loud, so it will only be for garage use. We have a smaller wet/dry vac that we use for basement projects, but this one is a lot more heavy-duty. “

Sweeps Up Water

This wet dry shop vac will not only sweep up debris, but also large puddles of water.  Many customers were amazed with how much water it could collect.  This customer explained more about this feature, “My basement hasn’t flooded in the month that I’ve had this unit, so I poured out a 5 gallon bucket of water onto my concrete patio to test the wet vac ability. I removed the filter and the bag from the drum and used the extra wide head piece and this thing was able to suck up everything relatively quick. If my basement ever floods, I feel comfortable knowing that I’ll have this unit down there. If you just have bucketloads of water in your basement, and it isn’t a dirty, muddy water, I don’t think you need to have a filter connected on the inside of the drum for a wet clean-up.”

Does Not Come with a Wet Filter

This shop vac comes with a dry filter, but a wet filter is not included.  Customers were disappointed that they had to buy the wet filter separately.  Here is what one customer had to say, “I was disappointed that it did not include the wet filter but I don’t think it will be needed unless there is a flood I have to deal with, just have to remember to take out the dry filter! It is also suggested that you use a different filter for ash or very fine particulate.”
