Lightweight
If you are wanting a lightweight portable chair, the Trekology YIZI GO Portable Camping Chair is a good choice. Weighing in at 2 pounds, customers liked how lightweight this product was. Here is what one customer had to say, “I opened the box to find a small green bag…no bigger than a shoe bag. I picked the bag up by the handle and realized that it is also extremely light…only about 2 pounds. Inside the bag is lightweight aluminum frame held closed by a connected velcro strap. Undo the velcro strap and you find that the lightweight aluminum frame is joined together by a unique hinge design with interior cables that enables a quick and easy set up. It really is just as easy as 1) unstrap the Velcro; 2) pop open the aluminum frame; and 3) attach the seat cloth—then you are ready to go! The chair is surprisingly sturdy despite the lightweight frame and folding design. And even without arms or a high back, I found the chair to be a very comfortable seat throughout my son’s entire soccer game.”
Does Not Have Much Back Support
Because this camping chair is very small, it lacks a tall back that would support your back. While it does offer some lower back support, some customers commented that it was not enough back support for them. Here is what one customer commented, “My main issue, which is the reason I deducted a star, is that although I could sit up comfortably in this chair, I could not lean back comfortably in this chair without feeling like I was going to fall over because my shoulders were not supported. This chair may not be right for me personally and I will be looking for a chair with more back support. These chair are perfect for the rest of my family though. My wife, who is 5′ 2″, would be able to lean back and her shoulders were supported. As expected, my children who are all less than 10 yrs old fit in these chairs perfectly.”
Great for Backpacking
If you are wanting a backpacking camp chair, this product is a good choice. According to customers, this camping chair is considered the best backpacking chair, as it is very lightweight. Here is what one customer commented, “Bought this to take camping on Cumberland Island. We are backpackers and I normally wouldn’t give up the weight/pack space for a camp chair — but didn’t want to sit in the sand. It is awesome. Practically puts itself together. Compact and lightweight. Roomy and sturdy. And, comparatively, much nicer than my pal’s and she paid a lot more for hers. The legs adjust to three heights — don’t think I knew that before it arrived — so that was a pleasant surprise. Carrying case has loops to let you carabiner it to your pack.”
No Arm Rests
This camping chair does not have any arm rests. While this may be a complaint for some people, most of the customers commented that this chair was just as good without arm rests as it would be with them. Customers wrote that they did not miss the arm rests, and preferred this camping chair over the ones that had arm rests. A customer explained, “Surprisingly, I don’t at all miss the armrests that my old 10-pound fold-out tailgate chair had. It’s hard to explain, but the Trekology holds a person in such a way that additional supports (which is how I think of armrests) become unnecessary.”
Holds Up to 300 Pounds
Although this camping chair is lightweight, it can hold up to 300 pounds. Customer liked how durable this camping chair is, and they were amazed at how much weight this chair could hold. Here is one of the comments, “This chair is fantastic. You can have this thing set up in under 30 seconds and it’s lightweight enough that weight-conscious hikers would have a hard time leaving it behind. I’ve only taken it out once so far on a three day hike, but I weigh 220 lbs and I gave it an absolute beating and it took it like a champ. Everyone else on the hike was taking turns sitting in it when I wasn’t using it, and I know at least two of them have bought one for themselves since then.”
Too Small for Some People
Although this camping chair can hold a lot of weight, some customers commented that this chair was too small for them. Note that this was not a common complaint, but it was just something that some customers thought. A customer explains his experience, “I bought 2 of these to sit during my son’s soccer games. I had to send them back. they were too small to be comfortable and I am not even that tall (5’6″). They were easy to put together and appeared sturdy, fabric seemed good, they just were not for me.”
Great Customer Service
According to customers the customer service is great. If you happen to have any problems with your camping chair, you can rest assured that Trekology will refund you or replace the camping chair. A customer explained, “I had some issues with my purchase and Trekology’s customer service is courteous, responsive, understanding and did everything they could to correct the problem. I am happy with Trekology and I think you will be too.”
Takes a Few Minutes to Assemble the First Time
The first time you set this camping chair up, you may notice that it is difficult to assemble. This is because the fabric is stiff, and needs stretched out. After the first time you set this camping chair up, it should be easy to assemble. Here is what one customer commented, “Ok, the first time you set it up, you will spend a few minutes double checking that all the frame joints are in place. Then it will be a struggle to get the seat on the first time because the new canvas is quite stiff – and you aren’t sure which way it goes (the logo goes at the top).”
Easy to Get In and Out of
Customers liked how easy it was to get in and out of this chair. Seniors especially liked how easy it was to get in and out of this camping chair. Here is what one elderly person commented, “This little chair is amazingly lightweight. Of importance to me as an older user is also the fact that it is elevated enough above the ground that sitting down on it and standing up from it are not an issue. Great product.”
Trek Ultra vs Helinox: The Difference Between These Two Similar Chairs
The Helinox camping chair is a chair that is very similar to the Trekology YIZI GO Portable Camping Chair. It has the same shape, same comfort, and same portability. However, there are some differences between these two “look alike” camping chairs. One customer who had both camping chairs decided to write a review about the difference. Here is what she said, “I own a Helinox so that is what I am comparing the Trekology Yizi go to. When folded in it’s bag it is ridiculously small. The bag itself has one carry handle, and a line of 7 hoops to attach carabiners to, compared to the two end handles for the Helinox’s bag. The poles for the Trekology ar thinner, and do have more “give” in them, which causes it to feel less sturdy than the Helinox, but I’m on the heavy side, and still feel it is not going to collapse under my weight. The back to the chair is about 2 inches shorter than the Helinox, but it is as wide, and it is as comfortable. The whole seat is closer to the ground and shorter than the Helinox. I do not know the exact weights of either chair, but the Trekology is far lighter, and far more compact when folded so if size and weight are important, the Trekology is the winner.”
