4 Ways to Save Time and Money While You Clean Your House

Cleaning the house can be daunting especially if you have kids. Kids can create messes you didn’t even know could be created. A mom with a busy life is going to take one look at the house and think of how long it will take to clean it. Don’t worry! There are some ways that you can save time and money while you clean your house. This way, you’ll be able to get the house clean and still have time to get all your other things done. Here are 4 ways to save time and money while you clean your house.

Save Time and Money While You Clean Your House

Use a Timer

Use a timer and create a time table for yourself. Say you have a certain amount of time to vacuum, a certain amount of time to do the dishes and so on. This will push you to work a little harder to get everything done within your designated time slot. Giving you the time you need to do something else. It will also make hated jobs seem shorter. All you need to do is tell yourself that 10 minutes cleaning the bathroom isn’t so bad, then the time will be over before you know it. If you can’t get all your cleaning done within your designated time, don’t fret. At least the house is cleaner than before you started. Your children can always help you finish it later.

Don’t Use a Ton of Cleaner

Product companies want you to use more of their product so that you will buy more. In reality, you only need a little bit of cleaner to get the job done. In most cases adding more cleaner to something isn’t going to get it any cleaner. For example, if you use bleach to disinfect counters adding more bleach to your mixture isn’t going to kill more germs. However, it will probably give you a headache. Go easy on the cleaner and you’ll get your house clean all while prolonging the life of your cleaning products and saving money. This is an easy way to save time and money.

Use Washcloths

Although using disposable cleaning wipes are convenient, they don’t save any money. Buying lots of disposable wipes cost a lot more money than just using rags and washing them. Save time and money by skipping the disposable cleaning wipes and using old rags instead. Rags also have a bit more scrubbing power and won’t tear. This way you’ll really be able to get up any dirt and grime. Then just toss the rag in the washing machine and use it again.

Make Your Own Cleaning Products

Some people don’t like the idea of using harsh chemicals for cleaning around their families. Try making your own cleaning products in this case. You will save time and money because most DIY cleaners can be made from ingredients you already have in your home. You won’t need to go out and buy another specialized cleaning product. White vinegar can do a variety of jobs and it’s totally safe to use around your entire family.

Summing Up

It’s easy to save time and money while you clean your house. There are simple shortcuts here and there that will make you wonder why you didn’t start doing them a long time ago. Set a timer, go easy on the cleaner, use washcloths, and try making your own cleaning products. These tricks will help you save time and money so you can get back to what really matters in life.
