The Outlander Hiking Backpack is water resistant and durable.  It is made from highly rip and water-resistant fabric.  The material is also lightweight so that you won’t be carrying around extra ounces.  The stress points on this pack are reinforced with bar tacking for increased longevity.  Durable 2-way Abrasion Resistant SBS Metal Zippers go across the back.

Compact

The Outlander Hiking Backpack folds into a zippered inner pocket.  This is a great feature for when your pack is empty.  I like this feature on packs for when I will be out collecting items or coming home with more than I started out with.  Simply keep your backpack in it’s own pocket and then expand it when it’s time to fill it.

Lightweight

This backpack only weighs 0.46 pounds.  It can still hold up to 20 liters.  While this is not a whole lot of room, it also doesn’t weigh much either.  This backpack is a great space saver to take on trips.  Simply stuff the bag into it’s own storage pocket it and unzip it when you are ready to fill it. This is a great backpack to have when traveling because you can pack it empty with your luggage and then if you are going to get an overweight baggage charge, simply unfold it and pack some luggage in the backpack.  Then use it as a carry on for your excess luggage.

The beauty of this little bag is that it actually can fit quite a bit of items in it.  One customer described in detail just exactly how much, “I wanted a smaller, lightweight bag to carry a few items for myself and my 2 dogs while hiking, especially during camping trips. I ordered the 20 L bag and despite how small the bag appears, with the use of the three different compartments, I was actually able to fit ALL my personal belongings for my upcoming 2 night camping trip, and not just the items for hiking, including some items for my dogs. If you are wanting a day pack, then I’d recommend the Outlander Hiking Backpack. It comes in 11 brilliant colors to choose from, has many compartments and is priced low.  My favorite thing about it is that it compacts into it’s own pocket when not it use. This would make a great backpack to take on any trip, especially airline travel.  At only 0.46 pounds, you could keep it condensed into it’s pocket and then take it out as you need to.  For people who collect things like souvenirs on trips, this makes a great way to take extra luggage without much added space nor weight.  The Outlander also makes a great backpack for college students or someone who walks to the grocery store.  This is a great daypack for just about any activity.

Can it hold a gallon of milk?  Answered by a customer:  “No, this would not be a good pack for carrying that much weight. I bought it to take on the Camino in the fall.
