Great for Drinking at Restaurants

Because it is so small, this is a great portable water filter to take to restaurants instead of buying  bottled water.  Here is what one customer said, “I am assured clean water in restaurants, when I am traveling. I do not have to spend money on bottled water, in fact I get better tasting water by using the straw. When the straw is no longer effective, it stops working, what a brilliant concept!!!”

Slightly Difficult to Suck Water Out

Do not expect this to be as easy to suck water out of like a regular straw.  It is still slightly difficult to suck.  However, it is not nearly as difficult as other water filter straws are.  This customer explained, “I’ve been using this daily for two weeks now, and water tastes great! The only drawback is that you do have to suck slowly or quite a bit harder to move water through the filter, but that should be expected with a filter doing its job.”

Can Be Used for Many Purposes

There are so many ways you can use this straw filter.  Like I mentioned above, you can use it at restaurants.  But it also works for drinking out of puddles and using it for emergencies.  Here, a customer explains all the different ways you can use this water filter, “The compact size on this straw is what makes it so useful/unique…At a restaurant with funny tap water? Whip this sucker out! Want to fill up your water bottle at the airport and not have to pay for bottled water? Great to use for that too. Throw it in your day bag and forget about it! I basically use it for anytime I want water and the local tap water is questionable (travel/restaurant use namely). Though it would CERTAINLY hold up on that dirty puddle you are drinking out of if you get lost in the middle of the woods. I keep one in my day bag, and one in my glove compartment. Having clean water no matter where you go is such a lifesaver (and luxury if you ask me). For this price, why hesitate? Whether you are a hardcore prepper, or just as neurotic as I am about tap water with off flavors, this works!”

Some Customers Weren’t Sure How to Clean It

The company states under the answered question area that you don’t need to clean the inside of this portable water filter.  Only the mouthpiece needs cleaned.  However, many customers were concerned that they were not cleaning their water filter properly.  Although you don’t have to clean the inside of it, customers felt like they should.  This customer shares her concerns, “My only concern is with draining the filter straw after using it. I do not want mold to build up, so I usually place it bottom side up in my mouth & suck any remaining water out, and then vigorously shake it to dry out more. (Unfortunately the directions do not address airing out the straw.)”

Great Price

The price for this portable water filter is great.  Not all water filters are this cheap.  A customer explains why he likes this portable water filter, “It’s good for up to 200 gallons (depending on how dirty the water is, I would guess) and under $20. That’s like 10 cents a gallon for clean/purified water…Great deal and these can be a lifesaver!”

Comes with a Plastic Tube Storage Case

This portable water filter comes with a plastic storage case, which allows you to easily store it.  It also allows you to safely take it places without you losing it or dirt falling on it.  Here is what one customer mentioned about its portability, “This is a nice size, very portable in its own plastic tube storage case, easily fits in a cargo pants pocket, and works well.”

Good Customer Service

Although some customers said that they had trouble with the customer service, most customers were very pleased with it.  When customers had left negative comments (such as the water filter breaking), the customer service immediately responded back.  Besides that, many customers also noted that the water filter was shipped very quickly.  They didn’t have to wait  a long time for it to arrive.

Lastly, if you happen to not be satisfied with your purchase, the company offers a satisfaction guarantee.  If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, the company will refund you.  All in all, the customer service is great.  Here, once customer explained about why she likes the satisfaction guarantee that the company offers, “The GLACIAL STREAM – Water Filter Straw is a fantastic product, especially if you hike, or plan for natural disasters, or both…It come with 100% satisfaction guarantee! If your unhappy with this product, simply return it Hassle Free and receive 100% free refund. You can’t beat a deal like that.”
