Heavy Duty Cable

String lights will only be as durable as the cable that connects them.   Thankfully, The Brightech Ambience Pro Waterproof Outdoor String Lights have a strong cable that should withstand the weather and some wear and tear.  A customer had this to say, “These lights are so pretty.  I love the high end industrial look.  The cable is heavy duty and I expect will survive the elements for a very long time.  The lights do not appear to be cheaply made and have a pretty thick and heavy cable.  Take this into consideration when stringing your lights as you’ll need to ensure they are properly anchored to support the weight.  We used black zip ties on either side of each light bulb ‘bracket’ to keep the lights from sagging, rather than connecting them at the loop above each light.  This is going to keep them in place on the stainless steel braided wire that we bought from our local home improvement store.  It took more time to do this, but I guarantee it will be worth it in the long run.  I am going to live in my backyard this spring and summer because it is so lovely with these lights.  They emit the perfect lighting for al fresco dining and summer BBQ’s.”

Must Be Supported Well

As the previous section states, these lights are run on a heavy duty cable.  With that being said, you will need a good support system to hang these lights because they are heavy.  Here a customer testified to this fact, “These lights are exactly as advertised and are really pretty. I bought two strands to zigzag over a 12×10 area and they’re just about right – I was a little concerned that the 3 foot spacing in between bulbs would look skimpy, but they provide great ambient light and look just right as a canopy about 9′ overhead.  Be warned that they’re not joking around about these being heavy duty – they’re much, much heavier than cheap party light strings, too heavy to hang under their own weight for any span longer than four or five feet. You MUST suspend them from tensioned and anchored wires and spread the load across truss wires if you’re doing a canopy – no zigzagging overhead over a wide unsupported span.”

Less Expensive and Use Less Energy Than Vintage Bulbs

Soft glow and we have used 6 boxes of the lights now to illuminate the yard from our house to our boat dock. Great product and timely delivery. Bright with a Warm Ambiance

Does Not Come with a Dimmer

Easily attached these to some lower hanging branches in our back yard with some zip ties with enough slack to allow for movement on windy days. I added an in-line dimmer with a remote so I can operate the lights from inside the house. I got the dimmer because several reviews mentioned that the lights were too bright. I don’t find that to be true in my backyard but I suppose it depends on your application location. The dimmer does add flexibility though. Very, very happy with these lights and will buy them again if I can find more places to put them.”
