6 Things to Do to Have the Best Christmas Party Ever

Christmas can be a stressful time of year for a lot of people. Everyone is worried about Christmas shopping, traveling, and hosting parties. Planning a Christmas party doesn’t have to be so dreadful to plan that you don’t even enjoy yourself. Take some of the stress out of planning and you’ll have a much better time at your own party. Here are 6 things you can do to have the best Christmas party ever and to reduce some of the stress planning it.

Christmas Party to Do’s

Send Out Invites

Most people are really busy over the holiday season. Make and send out invitations so that people can plan on coming to your party. Send the invites out at least 2 weeks in advance so that people can make arrangements to be there. Invitations also have a way of making it feel like more of a party, instead of something you just threw together last minute. Evites are another way to go if you want to save some paper.

Give Assignments

Give out assignments to party guests so you don’t have to do and make everything. Assign someone a salad to make, and another person bread to bring. Giving out really specific assignments will help create a diverse Christmas meal instead of everyone bringing a dessert. Have your guests be assigned specific meal items but let them have fun with what they bring. This way some of your stress will be relieved.

Play Games

No Christmas party would be complete without games! Having some really fun games is the key to having a great Christmas party. It might be a good idea to have some games planned to break the ice between guests if they don’t already know each other. A game like “Who Am I?” breaks the ice and is really fun. Everyone has a famous person’s name taped to their back. They need to go around asking “yes” or “no” questions to try to figure out who they are. Don’t forget to have a White Elephant gift exchange to really make some memories.

Decorations

Decorate your house to the max! Your guests will feel festive and get in the holiday mood when there are holiday decorations. Have colorful streamers, Christmas napkins, and a beautiful place setting. A nice place setting will make all the difference for your guests at your Christmas party. Make sure everyone has a spot to sit and that there is plenty of room for everyone too. It’d be cute to have name cards for everyone as well.

Plan Ahead

Do as much of the meal prepping as you can ahead of time. This will take away a ton of stress so you don’t have to try and whip everything up while people are starting to ring your doorbell. Plus no one wants to be at a Christmas party where nothing is ready so they need to wait to eat. Make everything ahead of time and simply keep it warm in the crockpot or in the oven. You’ll find that you enjoy yourself a lot more this way.

Party Favors

Have a cute and festive party favor for everyone when the party is over. It can be a yummy treat, or simple Christmas decor for your guests to enjoy in their own homes. This really makes guests feel valued and loved. This is something that will make them want to come back year after year.
