This snow brush won’t scratch or scuff your vehicle’s paint. The crosslinked, high-grade Polyethylene foam head is approved for delicate surfaces. The telescoping gray handle has a reach of 27” to 47” to help you reach all parts of large vehicles, minivans, and trailers. Black Grip Not as Good as Previous Versions

According to a customer who has bought many of these SnoBrums, the black grip area is not as well made as previous versions. A customer shared, “Have purchased at least 10 of these very dependable SNO BRUMS which were made with a reinforced black plastic hand grip at the bottom of the telescoping handle. The two that arrived this past Thursday are made with a black grip that is nothing more than a thin covering that goes over the metal handle about the thickness of black electrical tape. Today, after a few minutes of use, the hand grip kept sliding off and for good reason. The new not improved hand grip was split up the middle. Not only will I have to use Gorilla tape on both handles but I certainly am not giving them away as gifts.”

Breaks Easily

This snow brush is not very durable according to some complaints I read left by customers who bought it. Here is one of those complaints, “Cheap Plastic parts broke within 6 weeks. Bought this 2/17/2017 to replace original first generation SnoBrum. Instead of metal, they use plastic on the handle and for the piece that tightens or loosens when you extend or collapse the handle. The handle piece broke after the first use. Duct taped it. Today, the piece that tightens or loosens so you can extend this broke.”

Not as Good as Original

Customers who have bought previous versions of this snow brush say that it just isn’t as good as the original in all aspects.

This customer articulated well what many others were saying. I’ll share the customer’s insights here:  “The ORIGINAL Sno Brum really was the BEST but what have you done? I am fortunate enough to own an original Sno Brum and the one that you are now selling is an embarrassment. I have had my original Sno Brum for over 12 years and it has survived horrible snows, ice and abuse. I fact, I am still using it today and it still works great. I was bragging about my Sno Brum to a neighbor. He said he was going to buy one but I bought this new Sno Brum to give to him as a gift for helping me clear the snow from my driveway. Wow, I was so disappointed when I received it. Other than the blue and red colors it is nothing else is like the ORIGINAL. The foam head is about the same length and width as the original but the foam thickness is noticeably thinner. In addition, the foam density is not the same. I can barely press my thumb into the original Sno Brum foam but I can easily press my thumb into this new one. Furthermore, the original blue Sno Brum foam was firmly mounted onto the red support but on this new one the foam is very flimsy. Finally I have always disliked the Sno Brum handles so I have substituted mine with a strong wood replacement broom handle – which works great. This new tubular adjustable handle is horrible and I doubt it will last a season without issues (except maybe in Florida). Years ago you guys really were THE BEST but now you are just like the rest. I am so sorry that this has happened as I was one of your biggest vocal supporters – especially since it is also MADE IN AMERICA.”

Lightweight and Works Fast at Clearing off Lightweight Snow

If or when you have heavy snow, it may not be wise to use the SnoBrum as your snow removal tool of choice. However, if you have lightweight snow, the SnoBrum should get the job done very quickly with minimal effort.

A customer shared this, “Why did I not get one of these sooner? Lightweight, easy to use, clears off my SUV in no time. Only good for the ‘fluffy’ snow, not the icy stuff, but makes life so much easier if you live in a snowy region. Far faster clean off than the ice-scraper brushes I used before, far less stretching to angle into the high/weird spots that can be tough to reach without one. After a season of use (and many snowfalls, some small, some HUGE), mine barely looks used, the foam is pretty sturdy if you’re reasonably careful with it. I especially love it for cleaning off the top of my SUV. This makes it easy and fast the ensure my roof is clear from any dangerous chunks of snow that could fly off my car while I’m driving and become a hazard to others on the road. Just a bunch of swipes and I’m good to go there. It takes me roughly 1/4 of the time to clear my car with this as opposed to one of the tradition brushes.”

Problems Reported with Locking Telescoping Handle in Place

There were some reports of the telescoping handle prematurely breaking. Here is one of those complaints, “I have used the snow removal tool twice to clean off about three inches of snow from my car. The first time, everything worked as advertised. It did a fine job and I was happy with it. The second time, however, the little black covering at the end of the handle got loose and fell off, but was worse, I was unable to tighten the handle after extending it to its full length. I could extend the handle but it would not lock in place after I turned the handle as the drawing on the label attached to the handle indicated I should do. In order to use the snow removal tool after I extend the handle, I have to hold the piece of the handle closest to the foam head with one hand so that the handle will remain extended. If I do not, it telescopes back to the smallest length. Not a happy camper!”

Price Is a Little High for the Lack of Quality Product

The first version of The SnoBrum may have been worth this price, but this second version is lacking in quality. For that reason, this product is priced a bit too high. A customer said, “For the price, I wish it had better build quality. The handle is removable but the screw connector is made of plastic. I anticipate heavy use will snap the handle from the head and I will need a replacement. Will use it as long as it lasts but not certain I will buy the same model again.”
