Item Specifics

The Harbor Breeze Twin Breeze Ii 74-in Oil-rubbed Bronze Outdoor Downrod Ceiling Fan is a double ceiling fan that is built for looks and to last.  It is an updated model with more durable materials and powerful, quiet motor technology.  There are six wicker blades that have an oil-rubbed bronze finish.  This outdoor ceiling fan also has a light kit with frosted glass.  The light creates a bright glow to your home.  This also comes with a 4 inch downrod.  The ceiling fan is 74 inches, and is ideal for extra-large rooms.  It can be used both outdoors and indoors.

Good Price

The price on this ceiling fan is pretty good for what you get.  Although it isn’t the cheapest ceiling fan out there, it also isn’t the most expensive.  Overall, the price is great.  Here is one of the comments from a customer who originally had some problems with the fan but then noted that the price was great for what you get,”Now that it’s up I do like it based on aesthetics – it looks very nice and much more expensive than the price. We’ll only use it on low so I don’t hear noise or see any balance issues at all straight out of the box. All good.”

Doesn’t Come with Remote so You Have to Buy a Remote Kit

This outdoor ceiling fan doesn’t come with a remote control.  If you are wanting a remote control, you will have to buy the remote kit which is sold separately.  This customer explained, “I love this fan! Had it installed with no issues. Make sure you buy a remote kit for it. It doesn’t come with one.”

A Nice Feature Is That the Fans Can Tilt

The description doesn’t mention it, but the fans can tilt.  This is a nice feature if you want them to be tilt.  Here is what one customer said about the features this fan has, “It isn’t clear enough in the description, but this fan can be mounted without the light kit – and a cover is included with it. YES! Also – the fans can tilt – see photo. You have to remove a wiring harness from the light section and put it in the body – the instructions for this aren’t great but one can figure it out. It’s a bit of a Rubik’s cube to squeeze everything into the body, but it can be done.”

Difficult to Attach a Different Downrod

According to some customers, adding on to the downrod can be hard.  A customer explained her experience, “One problem I ran into was adding a longer downrod. For some reason the set screw in the canopy ball is so short it is only useful with the stock piece. The Harbor Breeze downrods (all sizes) all are made to be “generic” so they have one end which is threaded (useless on their own fans) and slightly tapered as a result. The set screw in the canopy ball can’t reach their own downrods. It gets worse. I tried to replace the set screw with a longer one, only to find out it uses an unusual size/thread which isn’t carried by any local hardware store big or small. I ended up having to buy an aftermarket canopy ball just to get a set screw that was long enough to reach. This cost me a of of time, frustration and a little extra $$$”

Comes with a Light Kit

A nice feature that this outdoor ceiling fan has is a light kit.  Not all outdoor ceiling fans come with light kits, so this is a nice feature.  Here is one of the comments left about the light, “This is a really excellent fan (and light, if you choose to add it). It looks great, really pushes air, and is a good amount of light. I installed it in my living room, and though the blade design is really more of a porch style design (faux wicker-ish), it looks rather nice.”

Pull Chain Is Short

Unless you buy the remote kit, there is no way to turn on the fan unless you use the pull chain.  According to customers, the pull chain is rather small and may be too small for those who have tall ceilings.  An easy fix is to add on some chain.  Just be aware the pull chain may be too short.  Here is one of the comments, “Looks awesome. The chains are kind of short but you can always add more.”

Damp Rated

The Harbor Breeze Twin Breeze Ii 74-in Oil-rubbed Bronze Outdoor Downrod Ceiling Fan is damp rated.  This means that you should not install it somewhere exposed to the weather.  Patios, covered porches, and damp rooms such as bathrooms or washing rooms make great places for this outdoor ceiling fan.  Besides being installed in damp locations, you can also install it indoors.

Slightly Difficult to Assemble

A lot of customers commented that this outdoor ceiling fan was difficult to assemble.  While some said that it was very difficult to install, most of the customers commented that it was only slightly difficult to install.  Here is one customer’s advice and tips on installing, “Overall not terribly difficult to assemble but I will warn you on one thing. Install the fan blades BEFORE you mount it to the ceiling, if you don’t, you’ll be trying to get those fan blades installed for an hour if you’re doing this by yourself. There is a narrow slit for you to try to balance the screw on the screwdriver while holding the fan blade in place and also trying to keep the whole fan assembly from moving. The rest of the installation is easy and straight forward. They also failed to mention how you should wire this if you have two switches at the wall (one for fan, one for light). Easy peasy, just wire black to black, white to white, and if you have a red wire from the outlet box for the second switch, wire that to the blue wire.”

Looks Nice

Customers were amazed with how nice this ceiling fan looked.  It has a nice design, and the light makes this fan look even better.  But even if you choose to not install the light, you will still probably like the look of this fan.  Here is one of the comments, “This fan is exactly what I was hoping it would be. My remodel is modern rustic-farmhouse at it looks perfect in my living room. I will probably buy another one for the upstairs master bedroom…I don’t think it looks cheap at all.”

Not as Large as It Seems

Although this fan seems like it would be very large, customers commented that it would work on almost any ceiling, no matter the size.  A disadvantage is that the fan is rather small, so the large size is mostly because of the rods.  However, this is probably what makes it look extra nice.  Here is what one customer had to say, “Disappointed that the fan and fan blades are actually quite small. Our vaulted cedar ceiling is large, so this size and design seemed appropriate for the space. In reality this would work in almost any normal ceiling fan space (the fan looks puny in comparison with a large ceiling area.)”
