The Sportspower Super First Metal Swing Set is a 5 station swing set, with 2 swing seats, 1 trapeze, 1 teeter-totter, and 1 slide.  It allows six children to play at once.  All of the swing chains are adjustable, so that children of all sizes can play on this swing set.  This product is made from 2 inch heavy duty steel tubes that are weather-resistant.  The hardware has a powder-coated paint finish for extra durability.  The legs are padded.  This product meets or exceeds ASTM safety standards.  It is very easy to assemble.  The components are pre-drilled, so that putting this product together is easy.  It will take around 150 minutes to assemble the swing.  This swing set is ideal for medium to large backyards.  It measures 134.5″L x 100″W x 74″H.  It will support kids that weight up to 100 pounds each, and can hold up to 600 pounds total.  This product is recommended for children 3 to 8 years old.  However, it can be used for older children and adults as long as they don’t weigh more than the weight recommendations.

The company, Sportspower, has been around since 1992.  This company started when two business partners came together to make quality play products that are affordable.  They have created many unique products, including the first patented water slide and the first at home air jumper.  Over the years, Sportspower has created trampolines, swing sets, water slides, and playhouses.  Each product is made for children and adults to get out and exercise, and enjoy life to the fullest.  All of their products are affordable, and are made with quality.

Sturdy

The Sportspower Super First Metal Swing Set received good reviews from parents as far as sturdiness goes.  Here is one of the customer comments on this topic, “Awesome swing set! Very easy to put together and very sturdy, quality materials. I bought it for my 8, 6, 4 and 2 year Olds. It works very well for them. This swing set was cheaper and more sturdy than the one we bought at Walmart. We also bought the kids first trampoline from Sportspower too. They are a great company from what I can tell. Thanks Amazon!”

Slide Ladder Is Hard to Climb

The ladder to the slide received some reviews about it being hard for little children to climb.  Here is one of those comments left by a parent, “The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the ladder to the slide is very hard for little ones too get up onto the top of the slide. It seems like the ladder slants straight up and under the slide. Very awkward for little ones to manage. Otherwise I like it a lot. Grandkids really like it except for that one thing.”

Swing Parts Made of Plastic

It’s not necessarily a bad thing that the swing parts are made of plastic.  It is however, something to be aware of.  Here is one of the comments about the plastic pieces, “This swing set has a frame which is entirely metal, however there are plastic coverings over the chains and metal bars which the children might touch. The slide, swing and glider seats are plastic, as well as the flying saucer and trampoline.”

Paint Job

There was a complaint about the paint job being poor.  I’ll share what the customer had to say here, “The most annoying thing is the sloppy looking transitions between the blue and white paint.”

Good Price

The majority of the comments about the price was positive.  Here is one of those comments, “For the price, you can’t beat it! Our grand daughter is in love the with saucer and the trampoline. She kept running outside to tell us what a good job we were doing, while putting it up!”

Instructions Are Challenging to Follow

There were mixed reviews about the ease of assembly as far as following the directions, “My 3 year old ADORES this cute little swing set! We are very happy with it. The only negatives are: As others have said, some of the instructions are wrong. It took my husband about 3/4 of the day to assemble it by himself but he said it wasn’t that bad. The most annoying thing is the sloppy looking transitions between the blue and white paint.”

Doesn’t Come with Anchors

Make sure to buy some anchors since this swing set does not come with anchors.  Here is one of the many comments about the lack of anchors, “You do need to purchase your own anchor kit for it. They only cost a few bucks and it will keep your swing set safely on the ground. It came with all the tools needed to put it together as well, which I thought was very handy!”

Some Issues with the Horse

Not all people had issues with putting the horse part together.  But some did have issues.  Here is one of the negative comments about putting the horse together, “The horse can not be put together at all, none of the holes line up for the bolts to go into. The slide, some of them line up but most don’t. The most important ones that hold it up and onto the main part of the set don’t fit. New holes can’t be drilled threw the cheap plastic. A lot of the screws are too short to fit threw the other side of the holes. The plastic is cheap quality but the net on the saucer seems to be good. I have tried calling the customer service number to address these problems and can never get threw. Will continue to call. Worst case I have at least half a swing set. No not recommend.”

Swing Set for All Ages

The nice thing about this swing set is that it should be able to grow with a child.  Here is how one parent explained it, “I bought this for my twins on their first birthday. I’m sure that seems young to a lot of people, but after purchasing we bought toddler swings which attached easily. My kids love to swing in their toddler swings and I put them both in the swinging disc and they love to lay there while I swing them back and forth. In purchasing a swing set I was looking for safety and I wanted it to have a slide, teeter totter and two swings. This set has all of those plus the trampoline and swinging saucer/disc. I plan to have this for many years and I know my kids are going to love growing into the other features they are still too small to use. I imagine they will still be using this swingset in 10 years from now since it has so many features.”
