Item Specifics

The Fire Sense Hammer Tone Bronze Commercial Patio Heater is a powerful heater that throws off a lot of heat.  It has 46,000 BTU’s and features a dark bronze finish.  This heater features a Piezo ignition system and also wheels for ease of mobility.  This heater is made for the serious outdoor host and hostess.  It will need to be assembled after you receive it.  Make sure to read through all of the directions so that it gets put together correctly.

The dimensions are 18 x 33 x 89 inches with a weight of 48 pounds.

Stands Very Tall

Be aware that this patio heater stand very tall, 89 inches to be exact.  This may or may not be an issue for you.  But take note in case it is. As explained by one customer who tweaked it to work, “Too tall for our Pergola no more! When I first put this thing together I didn’t realize just how tall it was. Too tall in fact for our large pergola by the lake. It fit underneath but I could have run the risk of a fire if I used it underneath the wooden pergola. So I went ahead and took out the second tube, used brackets to attach the top burner unit to the bottom tube and presto, it is now the perfect size (no more than 6′ tall) to use underneath the pergola. It even works better when it is not as tall.”

Requires Assembly

Some people are not big on having to spend a lot of time to put something together.  The Fire Sense Hammer Tone Bronze Commercial Patio Heater will require some time putting it together.  How long it requires, depends on who you ask.  Since this is a hot topic with customers, I will quote a few people here.  One customer said, “It took me about 2 hours to assemble the heater. I could do it again in an hour. The screws for the reflector were too short, so I had to go to the hardware store and get longer ones.”

Another customer commented this about assemblage, “Took about an hour to assemble and I’m a DIYer, mechanically inclined. Instructions were fine, easy to follow and clearly written.”  While some people had major frustrations to share as did this person, “Well I hate it because it came in literally about fifty pieces. I’m very sick of ordering things that don’t indicate you will need to spend hours assembling it.i don’t think I will ever bother to assemble it. And why,so they can save a few bucks on shipping costs they can’t bother to assemble it for you ? Pics are very misleading they need to show you what is in the box, a pile of parts.”

So there you have it.  Some people were ok with assembling this heater and some were not.  I wanted you to be aware so that you are not caught off guard.  Plan on some time assembling this heater.

Popular Heater for Pool and Spa Areas

The Fire Sense Hammer Tone Bronze Commercial Patio Heater is a popular heater for outdoor pools and spas. Here one customer explains, “Have a small pool area out back with small pool, and spa with patio cover. This thing is great to have in that area. Ceiling is just high enough to accomadate the unit and I even space it closer to ceiling and edge roof than I should but it still seems fine. I use it to keep the area around the spa warm in the winter while going in and out of the house. Works great in the 30’s temps with 100 degree water in hot tub. radius of heat is ok as far as I can tell but not too picky here. It heats and that’s all I care about. The lower casing for the gas tank is super easy to lift up and down to open and close the valve on the tank. Unit starts really fast. Great for the price.”

Common Questions

Here are some top questions that I found for people considering buying a Fire Sense Hammer Tone Bronze Commercial Patio Heater.

  • chevron-circle-right How long would a regular size gas tank last Will the heater auto shutoff once there isn’t anymore gas ?   As answered by a customer: “A regular tank lasts about 10 hours. And when the gas runs out, it’s doesn’t “shut off” per se, but it actually just stops burning since the gas is gone. You’ll actually notice the flame and heat start to get a lot smaller right before it runs out of gas. I used this heather last year and I’m happy with it. I would buy it again.”
  • chevron-circle-right Does this emit off decent light as well?  As answered by a customer:  I would say it doesn’t produce enough lumens to read or view pics in magazine while dark outside. It does produce some just not sufficient for lighting and this one is really not made for lighting anyways.
  • chevron-circle-right We are not big on assembly. Realistically how long does this take to assemble? As answered by a customer:  “I purchased this unit roughly 18 months ago.  My recollection is it required 30-40 minutes to assemble and wasn’t overly complicated.  However, you definitely need to take it step by step following the directions.”
