Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder: Review

Bird Feeder 3

Review of the Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder

The Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder is one of the most beautiful bird feeders that I’ve reviewed so far.  I like the see through design.  While it’s nice to feed birds, it’s a bonus to get to watch them up close the way that you can with this bird feeder. With the Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder, there is no need for expensive kit or binoculars to view birds.  Simply attach the all weather suction cups with hangers to an outside window and you have a personal bird viewing station all set up.

Item Specifics

Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder weighs 1 pound with dimensions of 5 X 4 X 11.8 inches.  It is designed to feed both small and large birds.

Pros

One of the best things about this feeder is that you can view the birds up close. The see through design along with the suction cups allow you to put it right on your window for up close and personal bird watching.  Another cool thing about the Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder is that both small and large birds can feed in it. With the material that it is made from, there is no need to worry about moisture from rain and snow getting the seeds wet.  Lastly, if you mount this on a high window away from trees it is squirrel resistant.

Cons

It does seem to take the birds awhile to visit the feeder.  Many of the customers commented that they were waiting several weeks for bird visitors.  But once the birds arrived, customers (and birds) seemed very pleased with this feeder.  One customer had this to say, “This a fantastic feeder and wonderful company!  It took the birds in my neighborhood about six weeks to find it, so I was initially a bit discouraged.  Now the word is out and it’s almost constantly occupied.  It’s on a window in one of my bedrooms because that window overlooks an area in my yard my pets can’t get to and lay in wait.  Almost every time I walk in the room there are two birds using the feeder and often a bird or two on my fence waiting for their turn.  I have to refill it every other day.  I just ordered a second one to accommodate the traffic of all the birds that love this feeder.”

Two other disadvantages is that this feeder is a bit pricey for what you get and it is not squirrel-proof.

Squirrel Proof? Or Not?

One of the biggest topics of bird feeders is if they are indeed squirrel proof or not when advertised as so.  The Tranquil Outdoors Bird Feeder is advertised as squirrel proof if you hang it on window high up on your house away from trees.  However, it seems like the squirrels win again, as customers say that squirrels can still get to it.  Here one customer describes how this is possible, “Great fun — so far it holds well to the glass. However — did you know that squirrels can climb straight up the side of your house/door and still get to this feeder even when it is 5 feet high?! Darn squirrels– persistent and cheeky! That said, this is a fun feeder and I love watching the birds eat from it as I sit at my desk!”
